enrolled class not showing

I have two classes. One class is the prerequisite for the other. I have the second class hide so it does not show up on the home page or dashboard for anyone.  I have it set up so the student will be automatically enrolled in the second class. The student is enrolled in the second class; however, they cannot see the second class.  I tried to use an explanation by Mary Cooch.  

 Please advise.  Thank you in advance.

As a result this second class will not be visible or accessible for your students. You have to make this second course visible so students can access this course.

If a course is displayed or not on the home page or dashboard page, is handled by your theme. You could modify your theme so this second course is not appearing.
