annual auto enrollment

annual auto enrollment

Dear support team,

I have a course and I want my students to participate on this every year.

For this, I would use auto enrollment, which indicates an enrollment  automatically 365 days after a student has already finished the course.

My goal is to set the enrollment only once, and after that the students will get the notification every year about the upcoming annually training without any further tasks on it.

My question would be, is it possible to configure the auto enrollment for this purpose?

That would be even more better, if the period between two enrollment would be configurable.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Robert

I use the plug-in Recompletion to achieve this.
I don't know how just enrolling a student in the same course will handle the past completions and grades. You may have to manually remove the activity completions and quiz or change the attempts?

Well, I need the previous results of the accomplishment as well, so I don't want to remove any activity in the past.

I found an article about this:
https://www.hubkengroup.com/resources/how-to-manage-recurring-courses-in-moodle-and-totara-learn
But I not 100% understand the way described here, and, seems to me very complicated and circumstantial.

There must be a simple way for that...

You will need to take the previous results off-line. Download the Course Completion Reports/Grades Reports and save them off-line.
You will not be able to display or generate results of the previous courses unless you create a new course every year and retain the Student's enrolled status in the previous year.

So if I understand well, I need
- to enroll the course at first
- to download the results after everybody finished the course
- to make a new enrollment next year.

That is the most simple way to set up and use annual courses.
That is managable, with some extra effort..

Well, the situation is the following:
I have a training set up in our Moodle system a several years ago by a former co-worker.
Somehow our system generates automatically e-mails for the students who have already participated on this course approx. 3 years ago. This email is about to participate on this course again.

Where can I find this setting or recomplishment plugin or any other configuration, to be able to stop sending these e-mails (or configure them correctly)?

Are you an Administrator?

Site Administration>Plugins>Plugins overview (and possibly Local plugins)

If you are not an Admin - you can see if the Recomplete plug is deployed at the course level.
Navigate to the course, Course Admin>Course recompletion.

To turn it off, deselect the Enable recompletion checkbox.
To adjust the length of time, update the Recompletion period condition.

Yes, I am administrator (Manager).
As I mentioned, there are no plugin installed.
I also cannot see any recompletion checkbox under course management.
If it is allowed, I can attach here a screenshot?

I am going to install this plugin and see if something will be changed.
Maybe I will generate a brand new course with the same content and delete the previous one.
This seems to me easier and faster rather then find out why the current configuration is wrong and how to fix it.

If you have any other ideas to check, please let me know.
Otherwise I will come back to you with my fresh experiences with the plugin.

Regards,
Robert
