We've noticed that the moodle standard role "teacher" (non editing)  and the moodle role "student" have the same ltiRole = "learner".

We've identified this together with Kaltura Support by sending a traffic analysis to Kaltura Technicians (Kaltura is our Video Mgmt Storage Solution).

Our goal is, we want different ltiRoles for the moodle standard role "teacher" (non editing)  and the moodle standard role "student" so we can give them in Kaltura different permissions.

In this Kaltura documation you see in the table the Moodle roles

Student = Learner

Teacher = Instructor

we need the nonediting teacher as a separate ltiRole

This is a known issue. Please see MDL-72066 for details.

Moodle currently only sends 3 IMS LTI roles, Admin, Teacher and Learner, and does not pass other IMS LTI roles including Teacher Assistant, which would typically be mapped to the Teacher (non-editing) role.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this, Danijel Todic?

We have the same issue for a couple of our LTIs. I've been through the comments on the issue linked (thank you, Randy). However, what I'm reading seems to suggest that having the mod/lti:manage ability ought to push a user through as a Teacher. Unfortunately, even with that enabled we're still seeing Teacher (non-editing) users come through as Learners.
