Dear All,

I need your support setting up a grade book for the below scenario.

Each module has 3 (A, B, C) parts.

Module 01 - A

A. MCQ - 20 Marks

B. Short Answers - 20 Marks

Total points - 40 marks

Module 01 - B

Note - Student must pick four essays out of 5

A. Essay - 15 marks

B. Essay - 15 marks

C. Essay - 15 marks

D. Essay - 15 marks

E. Essay - 15 marks

Total points - 60 marks

Module 01 - C

Practical - 40 marks

A and B should be 60% of the total marks. Balance 40% is for C.

I have already created the main category called "Module 1 Full" for nested A, B, C subcategories. All subcategories Aggregation weigh by "Weighted mean of grades." Still, the issue is in "Module 01 - B," which is "students must pick four essays out of 5," keeps giving me a headache. Pls, help me to fix this.

Ex. calculation

=sum(M1A*0.4, M1B*0.6)*0.6 + M1C*0.4

Have you tried to set a category for them that drops the lowest grade and does not exclude the empty grades? That should give you any four of those that have been done: and still work okay even if they do all five anyway. The category would need to have a Natural or some other aggregation that allows you to drop the lowest.
