StudentQuiz layout breaks with course roles, works with admin role

I have a strange problem (using Moodle v3.9.7 and StudentQuiz v4.4.2)

  1. As a site admin, the StudentQuiz looks fine.
  2. As any role, the question texts are shown and the page width breaks. One have to "Login as" or do a proper login with a course role account, Switch role is not enough.

I had a thought: This may not be a difference based on role.

Instead, for the user who is seeing the messed-up layout, Can you try navigating to the question bank, and seeing if the 'Show question text' option is on or off. If it is on, then try turning it off and going back to StudentQuiz. It may be that StudentQuiz is incorrectly sharing the setting from the question bank.
