moodle string: "No file chosen" & "Choose file"

One of the things that I found recently is that the words for upload a file that seems they are fix in code and are not moodle string to translate in different languages. I searched a lot in moodle language and not find it.

These are:

  • No file chosen
  • Choose file

Are they related to specific api that can not translate? or possible to fix it?

I found "Choose file" in mod_data (mod/data/lang/en/data.php) $string['chooseorupload'] = 'Choose file';

The "No file chosen" is something else, Chrome shows "No file chosen" and Firefox shows "No file selected", so I assume it is part of the browser. Change your browser UI language into French and the 'No file chosen' will turn into french.

The "Choose file" that you mentioned is related to specific module which is completely different than this string that is shown in the picture as a "button".
I tested and found in different langs, this is something else.

Thanks for the 2nd explanation, in safari also shows "No file selected".

but about that "Button" it seems something else.
