Can someone please explain the use of the new skip-block feature in sideblocks in version 1.6?

They are meant to be invisible for normal users and only visible for screenreaders.

If your theme inherits from a standard theme this should be so, otherwise you will probably be seeing all the "hidden" code.

dear martin !

i have the seriuse problem in this feture skip block . when i import farsi lang the skip block has been show in page and my page become widther than previuse . please help me to turn off this feture .

please note that when I chand page direction to left to right my page apear properly but in farsi ( right to left ) skip block and you are here has been shown in page and my page become widther than previuse . please help me . i cannot use from 1.6 ..angry

Can you send a URL so we can see what is happening? My test install looks OK under Farsi.

Perhaps it's a custom theme problem?

I have the same problem with default theme when my moodle is in farsi mode, skip block will show for all users.

Sorry, but the video didn't work for me (it's blank), and farsi works ok on http://test.moodle.com/?lang=fa_utf8 ... (try it) so I don't know what to suggest. I'd need to see it.

Have you tried changing themes?

Dear Martin, but the link http://test.moodle.com/?lang=fa_utf8 has the same problem, the page is very wide with "skip block" in the extreme left side.

I can confirm the bug on, http://test.moodle.com/?lang=fa_utf8 regarding "skip block" hidden text being visible on extreme left of very wide page with horizontal scroll-bar. It occurs under Internet Explorer 6, and probably requires a Ctrl+F5 refresh - be persistent!

The AVI shows the bug on a course/category.php page, in 'wood' theme, but I have confirmed using 'standard' theme.

thnkas for your help nick . I change left in accesshide to top in css file and my problem solved relativrly . but also a few wide page with horizontal scroll-bar . I dont know what I do . please help me .
