Does anyone know whether or not it is possible to upload multiple files at the same time, and also directory structures.

There was once a plugin called Flashupload, but I do not seem to be able to find anything specific on this any longer. The plugin was developed by Helmut Geppl - back around 2008, so will likely be long out of date.

Do you need something more than simply uploading a zipped folder of files into a course? (And then having Moodle unzip it?)

Indeed, I have a colleague who would like to be able to upload a folder structure with the files inside. He tried the typical Moodle approach of the zipped file, but found it a bit messy with the file names, so wondered if there was a better way to do it.
