According to our GDPR and privacy, users are deleted at the end of school year. Courses are set up with groups, and group messaging is activated. The groups are re-used every year.
When deleting user, according Moodle, user enrollments, activity and other user data are deleted. It seems that all data like assignments, forum post etc are deleted. So far so good.
But deleted users messages in group messages are still stored - so is the authors name (even user is deleted). The group messages must be deleted manually of user with permission to do so. As a temporary solution I have give the teacher permissions to delete group messages.
I cannot find a global setting that solves this problem, for instance "group messages deleted after 30 days". Anyone know if there is such solution?
Is there a reason that group messages posted by deleted users are not deleted?
Anyone that knows?
