Hi

There are a number of plugins that I am still listed as a contributor to, that I really have nothing to do with any more. How do I remove myself from these?

I suggest contacting one of the other maintainers of those plugins, and asking them to remove you.

The lead maintainer to be precise. Lead maintainers are the one with the permission to edit the list of contributors and current maintainers.

Well, it's common. In my own plugins, I keep listed everybody who ever contributed to it. But you can be enlisted as a contributor, not necessarily as an active maintainer.

Ah. I see. So just "contributor" is more of a historical thing? And if I don't see a role after my name, I can assume that I am just a "contributor"?

So here's an example, where I am listed as "Lead Developer". I tried to send a message to the "Lead Maintainer", but it errors out.

If you are listed at the top of the page below the plugin name in the "Maintained by" section, then you have "maintainer" permissions for the plugin. It means you can release new versions, edit the plugin page etc.

The lead maintainer can edit your permissions and uncheck the "maintainer" permissions. In which case you will disappear from the top "Maintained by" list, can no longer edit or release the plugin, but you can still remain displayed in the list of contributors down at the page (below the Useful links section).

but it errors out

What exactly does error out? Something we should look at? If so, please feel encouraged to raise a new MDLSITE issue. TIA

Likely, the user no longer has a Moodle account?

Message error.

Aha. Interesting. I just tried the standard Moodle in-built messaging and it allowed me to send Tyler a message without any error.

Hmmm.... I still get the same error if I try and send a message from the plugin page. Something wrong with the message link for the plugin page maybe?

But if I click the message link from his profile page, it opens the messaging, but says I "am unable to message this user".
