Hello.
On a site juste updated to 3.10.1 there are many problems occuring.
In the administration/plugin page, a few blocks and plugins are written in bold characters and I can't access them by clicking on their name
Should I eliminate these plugins? Reinstall all of them ?

Thank you for your response
Richard

If these are additional plugins, such as from the plugins directory, then you should ensure that the versions you have are compatible with Moodle 3.10.

If things are appearing in an unexpected way, there could be a problem with the theme. Please tell us what theme the site uses and, if it's not Boost or Classic, which version of the theme (shown under Site administrationPluginsPlugins overview).

If there are still problems, sharing a screenshot may help us understand the issue (remove or hide any information you don't want to share on the Internet).

Thanks for your response

I was using the Fordson theme, but the same problem arises with Boost.

This site has been badly managed, and has over 50 plugins, some of them outdated. I am eliminating them one by one...

But I ithink the major problem is the cache management.

I have included screen captures of the plugin configuration for the caches. This site in in French

The item "Cache stores s" is in boldface, which indicates a problem, I think.

Caching

The configuration of the caches seems OK, but I don't know much about this.
Could this be the reason I can't change any of the site's properties (like colors, for example , or the menu on the ) or upload an image ? The third screenshot shows that the space to upload the  header logo doesn't have the correct icons for upload and download and the circle within turns endlessly.

I would appreciate help with this, or in finding a programmer who can solve this problem.

I don't know if you meant to but your post included links to your site. This helps a great deal, we can immediately see the unstyled home page. In the HTML source for the page the selected theme is shown as "theme":"more". More was removed in Moodle 3.7 and doesn't work with Moodle 3.10. If you've switched to Boost then it's hard to imagine why More is being used. Try: 1. try purging caches and 2. uninstalling More.

I don't think there's a problem with the cache settings from what you've shared so far.

If you're looking for paid-for support then you're welcome to send me a private message or email. Or you can search for Moodle Partners local to you.

I've just had a further look, was this site upgraded using Softaculous? Softaculous is notorious for breaking sites as it leaves behind files from the previous Moodle version(s) which must not be there for Moodle to work. This is contrary to the upgrade instructions ("Do NOT copy new files over the old files").

The normal way to resolve this is:

  1. Move all files and folders from the Moodle source code folder (the site's home directory) into a backup folder.
  2. Download and extract the Moodle 3.10.1 files into the source code folder.
  3. Copy config.php – and additional plugins and themes – from the backup folder into the source code folder.

Some people (one, two) have suggested that you can open a support ticket with Softaculous and they'll fix the upgrade.

Hi Leon
Yes, unfortunately, the site was upgraded with Softaculous before I found out that it causes problems. I have used it before on another site and all went well... But this time, problems emerged.
You observed that the More theme shows up in HTML source.
This theme does not show up in the Plugin overview or in the theme selector.
I can't uninstall it that way.
How can I eliminate the More theme from the server ?
I can see that the More folder is still present in the site directory.
Can I just delete this folder since this theme does not appear in the plugin list ?
Thank you for your advice

I think you can delete the more folder. But that's odd, I would expect it to appear in the list. I tried it on my 3.10 site as a test. As expected it broke the appearance when selected as the theme, but it does appear in the plugins list:

Screenshot showing theme_more on the Plugins Overview page with "Uninstall" link.

I'm now seeing "theme":"fordson" in the HTML source code so presumably there's been a change somewhere.
