Topics & Courses

Hi all,

I've been meaning to link 4 topics from a course to the other course. For example:

I made a course that has 8 topics. (lets call this Cert 1 with 8 clusters). Now, 4 of those topics are in the next course too which is Cert 2. What i'd like to implement is that if they have completed those 4 topics in Cert 1, they don't have to complete them in Cert 2. (It'll show in Cert 2 that these topics have been completed, marked) but if they havent done Cert 1 and jumping straight to Cert 2, i'd like them to complete those topics.

I hope Ive explained well. If someone could help me. Please that would be great. Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Hennastysha

Yes you have explained well. I am looking at this as well. I have no suggestions on how to implement it but will reply so that I am in this thread in case I do figure it out.

I cannot think of a way to do this directly...but you could set course completion criteria requiring completion of the Cert 1 course before they can get credit in Cert 2. This will not prevent them from completing Cert 2, just getting 'completion' using the course completion criteria, if you use that.

Or...you could put all eight topics in one course, each with a separate certificate activity that issues when the four required topic items are completed. Make the second set of topics invisible unless the first four were completed.
