Workshop activity - Random allocation does not work

Workshop activity - Random allocation does not work

Hello everybody.

We have set up a workshop activity in our Moodle course and wanted to have a testrun, because we are using it for the first time. Since there are several peope already enrolled in the course (both as teachers and as students) we had them submit their files and tried the allocation. Manual allocation works without any problems, but whenever we tried to use random allocation it did not allocate them at all.

This is how it looked like:

Do you have any idea what causes this problem?

Thanks a lot for your support!

Could it be that the submissions are already allocated? If you have it done manually before, the random allocation method does not change those. And so it reports there are no more allocations to add. If you want to "re-shuffle" it, check the option "Remove current allocations" at the random allocation tab. That will remove all current allocations (unless the reviewer already graded the submission) and perform the random allocation from the start.

Hi David, thanks for the answer. But we have tried both: removing the current allocation by ticking the box; and duplicating the activity to submit and allocate everything from scratch.
