Laragon on Windows: Error installing Moodle 3.9.2

I recently downloaded Moodle 3.9.2 on my Windows 10 and I want to install it with Laragon 4.0.16. I can see the first page of the installation wizard, but I cannot go through the second page and I got connection-reset error.

I tried so many times with all of these combinations:

  • Apache 2.4.35
  • PHP 7.1.19
  • PHP 7.3.21
  • PHP 7.4.0
  • MariaDB 10.2.33
  • MariaDB 10.3.24
  • MariaDB 10.4.12
  • MariaDB 10.4.14

But none of them works. I also have turned off my antivirus (AVG Antivirus), but I still get the same issue.

Can anybody help me please? Thank you very much.

Laragon is a webserver package (Apache, MySQL, PHP) just like XAMPP, WAMP, MAMP, LAMPP, etc. I prefer to use Laragon because it's more flexible for web developers.

I just did a search and Laragon has been mentioned fewer than 10 times in the last few years in these forums. Your choice is probably to be a pioneer and debug the problem and (ideally) document it here, or switch to something you are more likely to get advice on.

I still can't install Moodle with Laragon 😂 So instead of keep struggling with Laragon, I decided to install XAMPP and install the Moodle with XAMPP. Everything goes very well, and I can use Moodle with ease ✌

I had the same problem with installing moodle on Laragon. The idea was to have a portable Moodle, on USB, but it seems that in version 3.9 everything works perfectly, but after installation the tab where we enter the administrator password does not appear in the browser

But I managed a portable Moodle (with all plugins installed and 11 demo users) that takes up even less space, with Uniform Server

path to moodledata is wrong, location is C:\laragon\moodledata (not public www)
