Already answered essay but time ran out, are my answers saved?

So I just completed/filled 4 questions essay and when I proofread it the time ran out and the quiz closes automatically and I panicked because I haven't submitted it yet. My question is, is my essay going to be empty because I didn't click the submit button, or did it automatically submit my already completed essay? 

(point is i already filled all the essay answers but didn't click the submit button because the time ran out)

please help

Yoko, if the teacher who set the quiz left the default settings on the (which most do), then, yes, it should automatically save what you have done when the time runs out.
