Importing multiple choice questions fro word into question bank

Can anyone provide information on how to import multiple choice questions from a word doc into a moodle question bank? I have tried many times but always get a bunch of "error" messages. Any help is much appreciated!

I'd edit it as a GIFT file and import it that way.
