Switching "JavaScript Cache" on crashes first.js

Dear All,

I'm on Moodle 3.9. Everything was working fine, and for something, and the the activity chooser link stopped working. I haven't added any new plugins before this issue happened. With the browser developer tools, I found that the issue is with first.js. Then after some searching I came across the issue https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-67327?attachmentViewMode=list

Yes, it's the same thing. For something, I set $CONFIG->cachejs=0; in config.php file, and after sometime removed that. The tracker item says that the issues is rectified in 3.8.1 and closed. But I'm in 3.9.

Any clues to solve this? I'm using Adaptable theme, and tried with Boost also. cleared caches. But no luck.

I read about running Grunt. But I'm afraid I cannot install Grunt on the system and do that. Is there any better solution?

Some of your plugins JS could still be dodgy. I would look at your 3rd party plugins and make sure they all supported M3.9 and that you had the latest version.
Also note that Adaptable is not M3.9 compatible yet
