Moodle "Check" Button

I would like to know exactly how the check button works. If the student writes the answer of every question but does not click the check button for each one, does the answers get submitted when they click finish attempt? Or do they need to check every answer in order to submit them?

I'll appreciate any help. Thanks!

Note: you can always find the answer to this question by trying it yourself.

The answers are all submitted when the student finishes the attempt. (And, whether each question has its own Check button depends on the setting 'How questions behave'.)
