can i install w/out server file location (dirroot) info????

Hi,

I am installing a moodle application in India and the hosting company i'm using refuses to tell me the server file location (dirroot). Is there a way that i can get around this by installing in a different way??? Any ideas/suggestions??

Also, if you have suggestions as to how i can convince the hosting co. to release this info, that would also be appreciated!!! They are saying that for security reasons they usually don't release this info.

Just make up something then view your site:  the resulting error message should tell you the correct path to use.

i can't see error messages. where can i find the php.ini file to turn this feature on?
