Using SCORM 'off line'?

Using SCORM 'off line'?

Hello,

We have a number of SCORMS that were created using Studio 13.  Several SCORM module make up a course.  We are currently using Moodle to run our courses.

I have a client that wished to use our courses directly on their computers while being offline as they work remote and often the internet is not reliable.

Is there a way to load up some sort of application that will allow a learner to take the course offline?

Thanks for the input!

Hey Matteo,

It needs to be on their laptop and has to be offline (eg - no internet connection)

Any thoughts?

Cheers!

The Moodle app, and the Moodle desktop app both allow content to be downloaded and used offline - then when internet access is available they can sync back the progress data, or allow the user to download more courses for offline use.

If you want to send them a usb file with the learning package it sounds like you might just want to export them as html5 packages from studio - then just tell them to unzip and open the index.html file in their web browser - there's really no point in it being SCORM if you're not tracking user progress.

Hi Dan,

I think we are leaning towards the USB stick and re-publishing in HTML5. Do you know of an interface of 'dashboard' where we can have them click a link, then it launches the HTML file?

(see attached crude example)

What are your thoughts on something like that?

Thanks for the input smile

create an html file called "startme.htm" or something like that in the root dir of your usb drive and drop the packages unzipped into folders in the usb. then use an html editor to write your page with relative links to each package.

should be pretty straight forward.
