Moodle performance slow

Dear folks,

I am running moodle in AWS, using t2 medium instance which is having 4GB ram. My moodle installation is responding very slow login page is taking 20 seconds to load and post login dashboard is taking almost 30+seconds to load. I have also installed mod deflate for zipping the response but not much help.

Please help in getting this issue resolved.

Do you have Theme Designer Mode turned on?  If so, turn it off.

I just accessed this on your site, can others confirm that this indicates theme designer mode is on (which would be a cause for performance issues)

Excellent, and I confirmed something I didn't know previously that it is possible to see if a site is using theme mode even without logging in.
