Every Badge Image I Upload I See Broken Image Icon ... Please Help!

Moodle Version:  Moodle 3.6.3+ (Build: 20190410)

Hi Everyone, 

Wondering if you can help in desperate need of help for my NHS Project.  I'm having issues uploading images for badges.  I'm always seeing the broken image icon and can't for the life of me figure out why.   

  • I've done the drag and drop method 
  • I've even gone through the browse method.  

Every time I add a badge or even change the image, I get the broken image icon. 

Can anyone suggest some ideas as to why this might be happening???

Hi Mark,

What type of image file are you using? Although it lists svg as an accepted file type, it seems they don't work (reported as MDL-61215).

Bless you! thank you so much for replying.

I am using PNG files. Is that the wrong file type to use? I'm guessing now that I have applied them I would not be able to upgrade the image used or make a repair. I acquired information from an article on here from back in 2014 that said you couldn't upgrade the image at all. I was rather hoping things would have changed since then. Can you advise?
