In the new semester, many teachers will import resources and activities from the couse in the last academic year. I'm planning the disk space expanding. So I need a confirmation: does it copy files to occupy double disk space when importing courses? In the File API of MoodleDocs, it says Moodle saves files by content hash. But I'm not sure, so need a confirmation, please.

Doing an import will increase the size of your database, but not the filestore.
Moodle will only keep one copy of the same file (no matter how many times it is added to Moodle) even if it is uploaded with different names (because it only compares the content of the file and its size)
The file store size increase will come when the teachers make updates to the material and upload it to the new version of the course.
