Separate Assignments for Separate Groups?

Question:

For a series of courses we are offering, I have the following groups of people:

  • students
  • advisory board members
  • fellow course authors

All three of these groups needs access to courses. Students for their particular course(s), advisory board and fellow authors to all courses.

Presently, I have no good way to break these groups out in a course.  What I mean by this is that if I bring everyone is as a students, then create three groups (students/board members/authors) for each course, I can view the "groups" if I look at the participants in the course, but as soon as I have a course assignment and go to grade that assignment, all of the the individuals are seen together.

This is a pain for course instructors who have to pass co unless placeholders to find the students assignments to grade.

Any ideas to fix?

You should set the group mode for the assignment to "Visible groups". Then on the grading interface there will be a drop-down menu that allows you to choose which group you want to look at.
