Combining a Forum & Activity

Combining a Forum & Activity

Is there an Activity or Resource type that combines a Forum and Resource? For example, if Faculty is providing a media file / URL / or PDF, the students should be able to discuss that resource in the same post.

Currently, we are posting the resource and then a separate Forum activity that reads, "Please read the above resource" but the 2 posts quickly get out of order or lost.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Stacy,

Just put the Resource into the Forum Description. You can place pre-made media files there with the, Insert or edit an audio/video file, or even record audio or video directly into the Forum Description area using the, Record audio, or the Record video, tools of the Atto editor. Doing things this way will keep your resources right at the top of the page when viewing the forum.

Thank you! Any suggestion for adding a PDF to a Forum? (Aside from linking to a Google drive?)

What is the content of the PDF? How long? How many pages? Is the PDF content something that could just be added to the Forum description as plain text, pictures, audio, video, etc., without turning it into a PDF?
