Hi all,


My current Moodle installation is authenticating by LDAP. However, when a user enters the wrong username/password they receive the error message

""LDAP-module cannot connect to any servers: Server: 'ldaps://server:port', Connection: 'Resource id #15', Bind result: ''


Any advice would be appreciated.


Moodle version 3.6.4 on Ubuntu.

Have you got two LDAP plugins enabled, e.g. the core LDAP Server and the third party LDAP Server (Sync Plus), under Site administration → Plugins → Authentication → Manage authentication such as:

Manage authentication page

If the first LDAP plugin was configured correctly and authenticating users but the second not configured correctly then incorrect credentials would fall through to this second plugin resulting in the issue described.
