Might be a silly question, but on the user profile. What is the difference between "posts" and "discussions"? I ask because I'm trying to figure out a way to have Moodle only grade students initial posts and not any of their replies to others' posts. If this concept of initial post versus replies to others' posts is already somehow built into Moodle then it would help me with a tracker I had put in.

I’m fairly sure that...

“Discussions” are the start of a new discussion/topic.

“Posts” are replies to an existing discussion.

Thank you. Made a tracker regarding having the forum module itself differentiate between posts and replies for grading purposes. MDL-66142
