While it's best practice and expected to be on the left side to assist the usage of the mental model of a todo list.
Usually, the list elements also get highlighted resp. separated by either a line or by itemizing them:

The right side should be reserved for support functions (like the favorite/bookmark function).
Things to improve:
- put checkmarks to the left
- itemize/separate todo items
