Embedding content from within Moodle in an iFrame in a content page in a Lesson

I am trying to embed content developed in Articulate Storyline in an iFrame in a content page in a Lesson. I have done this many times in a Label, a Page or a Book but I can't seem to get it to work in a Lesson. Here's the method I have used in the past:

  1. upload a zip file
  2. unzip the file
  3. create a link to the main file, namely the "story_html5.html" file

I have used this method on many occasions and it has always worked for me in the past. However, this time around I am finding that after unzipping the zip file I see the folder structure that I would normally see but when I click Save Moodle removes the folders and the files they contain but leaves behind any files that are not in a folder. I've never seen this behaviour before.

Can someone please confirm whether or not it's possible to embed an interactive element developed in Articulate Storyline in an iFrame in a content page in a Lesson such that the iFrame is displaying content from within Moodle rather than an external source? If it is possible to do this can someone please provide me with the steps? Thank you.

Hello Graham,

To be able to do what you want to do, the editor must support subdirs, I have not checked but I suppose that this is not the case for the editor used in lesson content pages, contrary to other places in Moodle like Label, Page or Book.

Maybe if you are interested in this feature you could create an issue in the tracker, but I don't know if it would be considered as a bug or as an improvement. If the Moodle team consider it is an improvement, even if a developer work on it it will only be available in a future release, it will not be backported to existing releases.

Technically I don't think it would be a lot of work to do this, probably only a small change in the code.

Hello,

I am also interested in being able to embed a Storyline course into an existing lesson.

I would consider this to be an "improvement" for sure!

If I need to submit a feature request somewhere, I am most  happy to do so!

Thank you both smile
