Moodle 3.6.1, MariaDB and php7.
Our school encounters a weird problem. We make use of an external dbase for our authentication.
That Dbase is also MariaDB and UTF-8.
All works fine untill there is a name with ë, ö, é, è, à ... Then the firstname or lastname disappears from the mdl_user table.
The users can login but they are immediately forwarded to the user page where the firstname and lastname are blanco.
Sometimes it happens that the diacritics have disappeared in the name.
When I change the ë for example into é in the external database it works.
Is there a solution for???
