Forum notification to Suspended users

Hi All,

I have set up one news forum on a system level for announcing new things on my portal. When I post the news in the forum all users are getting emails even the suspended users. Although, some of the suspended users do not have a valid email id. Due to that admin(or the one who posts) is getting mailer demons from the mail provider.


Right now we are using Moodle 2.7 and the forum subscription is in forced mode.

Also, on top of that, those suspended users for which emails are getting bounced back, the moodle is turning their account from suspended to active mode.

We haven't encountered this, but since we just suspended inactive users so they don't get email notifications, this is of interest to us. We are at version 3.5.5 and does anyone know if this is still an issue in the more recent versions of Moodle?
