Print quiz attempts in Firefox (Moodle 3.5, Boost theme)

Hi,

i want to print  quiz attempts for example with 40 questions in Firefox. In print preview i see only one page with questions.

  • the first page > blank,
  • second page with the first questions
  • third page > blank.
Print preview and printing the attempt only work
  • in IE11
  • Chrome
  • in all browsers with the clean-theme

Technical infos:
Moodle 3.5
Boost theme (plain.scss or default.scss)
Firefox 64.0.2 (64bit)
Windows 7

I would be pleased about any tips to solve this issue.

Best regards,
Luke

Hi Luke,

Sorry, I don't have any solutions! I just want to add that I'm having this problem too.

Changing zoom size or paper orientation doesn't work. Trying to 'Save page as...' doesn't give a PDF option (just .html or .txt).

Tech Specs
  • Moodle 3.5.5
  • 'Boost campus' theme (default.scss with some custom SCSS)
  • Used both Firefox Quantum 64.0.4 (64 bit) and Firefox Developer 67.0b18 (64-bit)
  • Windows 10
Related Info

I read in https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=90791 (somewhere in there...?) that there are tools to convert URL to PDF.
I'm aiming for accessibility and low-maintenance design, so I don't want to force my users or teammates to do that for every quiz.

I'm still looking up potential solutions because this is an issue for accessible content, as well as convenience and scalability.
https://docs.moodle.org/29/en/Quiz_FAQ#Is_there_a_nice_way_to_print_a_copy_of_a_quiz.3F should cover this problem for Firefox.

There is already a bug for this in the Moodle Tracker: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-62407

Next Steps

Vote for issue MDL-62407 in the Moodle Tracker, and watch it so you find out how it's progressing.

It might be good to cross-post or move this to 'Activities and resources' > 'Quiz'? (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=737)
I'm not 100% sure which way the mods prefer to organise this, would need to check.

Otherwise: not much I suppose. (Unless you know either enough code to help fix it or someone else who does?)

Best wishes,

Devon
