How can we add,remove,and rename the lists in navigation bar.For example,i want to remove calendar from left navigation bar and rename site home to courses etc..Could you please help me to figure it out..

Not easily... if all you want to do is to change text them it's possible to change any strings in Moodle (see Language_customisation).
However, there is no straightforward provision for changing the left-hand navigation. You would have to override its renderers in a custom theme and I know from experience that even that is far from easy.
