RSS XML problem

My provider has said that XML is enabled on PHP but I get the XML error when I try to do a RSS feed on a forum. Any suggestions about settings that might be wrong? I believe but am not certain my version is 1.52  Thanks in advance!

Stupid question, but I feel a need to ask to knock this out of the possible issues.

Has the forum got posts in it and has cron run?

This may create issues if not
