moodle switches from student to admin accounts when entering a course

we have a moodle site and when i log into the admin account and logout and then login with a student account and enter a course the user swtiches to the admin account and the name of the admin account appears in the user area but when i try for example turn editing on i get the you do not have permission messages ....can any one tell me why that is ....this started happening after i installed a report statistics plugin ......is it from moodle or from the server or what
