Has anybody used google classroom as a portfolio builder for their Moodle courses? If yes, do the systems work well together?

I understand that Google classrooms are mmm maybe.. LTI compliant, which means they should play nicely, but..... this seems a follow up to your earlier question relating to Certificates, have you had a chance of looking at Mahara

I have had a look at Mahara and it seems very useful. I will be asking our Moodle support person to have a look at it for us from a view of integrating with our Moodle system. Tx so much for your inut, it is really helpful.

Teresa,

We use Mahara and it works incredibly well with Moodle.  We are big fans of Mahara and use it in a K-12 district with kids of all ages.  I've posted about the platform we've built over here:  https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=358911

We talk about a lot of our ideas and directions we are trying to take our installation of Moodle in this post: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=358911#p1450814

We have some fabulous tech coaches and they blog about the various ways we are implementing Mahara with students and teachers.  https://techcoaches.dearbornschools.org/category/mahara/

You could totally use Activity & Course Completion in Moodle and use Assignments to grade portfolio pages and then once complete they earn a badge or certificate.  Mahara portfolio pages can be submitted into a Moodle Assignment and the page becomes "locked" until the teacher provides a grade.  Once graded it is released back to the student and becomes editable.  It works very well.

Feel free to contact us if you have questions.

Chris
