Interesting question that I cannot find the answer to:
Can a teacher or admin add an event to an individual student's calendar? For example a tutorial, feedback on project etc

The only way I can think of off the top of my head is to use groups and group events. You can automatically create a group for each student and then you can add individual group events so that are only visible to the student in the group.
