Cannot access cron.php from web interface

Hi,

I'm setting up moodle for my private webpage, using Moodle 3.5.1+ (Build: 20180810)

But I have a big problem: I cannot access cron.php from a web browser, getting the error message "Command line scripts can not be executed from the web interface".

I have disabled "Cron execution via command line only" in Site security settings. I have also given a password.

What else should I do to make this work?

Thank you very much in advance !

? what happens when you go to:

http://site.example.com/admin/cron.php?password=opensesame
Note: the url isn't pointed to admin/cli/cron.php.

Do you get an error?   If so, what is the error?
