Backup of user data

Hello dear Moodle community.

We are currently debating on allowing trainers to download backups of their courses.

While debating, the following question came up:

What is considered user data? Is it only forum entries, glossary entries or is it even wiki-entries?

And even more importantly: Is there a comprehensive list of everything considered user data?

Thank you so much for your answer in advance! Yours,

Tobias

When tutors choose to do a course backup for themselves they get a huge list of every element on the course and can pick what they want backed up. The same facilities exist when they want to restore there course

So, I would always disable automatic course backups but allow tutors, when required to be able to make backups of there courses. This also fits well with open pedagogy. They can share and distribute this course with other institutions or other courses created in your current institution

If by trainers you mean editing teachers, then they don't by default have the privileges to backup user data anyway.
