3.5 Gradebook landing page

Hello

We just upgraded to 3.5 and our gradebook landing page is now pointing to Grade Setup.  How do we change this back to Grader Report under the View tab?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Susan

Hi Susan,  Did you find a solution to this?  I'm experiencing the same thing.

Thanks!

Not so far unfortunately.  We are hoping that one of the 3.5 patches/updates will fix the issue, or at least give us an option.

Immàgine de Particularly helpful Moodlers Immàgine de Testers

Hi Susan,

If you're referring to the link in the Course Administration block, then take note that there have been a few changes. Prior to Moodle 3, there was only a "Gradebook" link in the Admin block, which went to the Grader Report for teachers and the User Report for students. For students, this was the link they'd see in the Administration block.

Since Moodle 3.0 or 3.1, there were 2 links in the Admin block: the Gradebook (Grader Report) and a new link - the Gradebook Set Up.

As of Moodle 3.4, the "Gradebook" link is now in the Navigation block (for BOTH teachers and students). All that remains in the Administration block is the Gradebook Set Up link. It may not make as much sense from a teacher standpoint, but from a student standpoint it is a improvement in the sense that there is one less block in their course. Now when students are in a course they don't have a random "Administration" block with simply just a 'gradebook' link. The Navigation block is a better location because that's where the other course specific links are located (badges, participants, etc...).

The only issue I find with the Navigation block is that it's a gazillion miles long. There are different course formats (such as Fordson) that attempt to put frequently used links in a quick access area... You could also add an HTML block in your course with a link to the GraderReport if that helps in the meantime... I just wanted to write so you understood the gradual change over the past few Moodle versions and that this probably will not 'change back' to how it was before.

Thank you John

Appreciate the explanation.  Now we just have to educate our instructors and older students smile

Hi.  thank you for the response.

Now, there's any way that i can disable the grade setup for the teachers?

either on the admin block or in another way (permissions?)

If you figure this out, we would be very happy to hear.  We have been looking for a solution since updating to 3.5 last summer.
