embedding videos automatically in Moodle 3.4

embedding videos automatically in Moodle 3.4

Hi there,

I'm trying to embed automatically, 2 different videos in one book chapter with no luck. If I only leave one link, it embeds perfectly fine, but as soon as I add the other ones in, only the first one shows and not the other ones.

At the moment, we can only embed the first link automatically and have to copy the embed code from YouTube manually for any other subsequent videos. Is there any workaround for this to have as many as links in one book chapter and have them all automatically embedded?

Thanks,

Mary

Hi Mary, in a book, as a basic design issue, each page within a chapter should relate to one and one only point. Therefore, one topic text, one video, one, maybe two, images; not always easy, but I have only used the book in this way. Keeps things clean and logically straightforward for the User.

Testing in a v3.4.1 shows no issue, so what has happened? What has changed in your Moodle?

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your reply, I know there should be something wrong with our settings perhaps, but that's exactly my problem that I don't know what.

Here is the screenshot of what I'm inserting in the book chapter :

and this is what I get:

Thanks,
Mary

Hi Mary,

Can you share a screenshot of the html editor view please? The cause of the problem might be apparent there.

Sorry for the late respond. interestingly, when I changed the video links to http, they started working and I thought it's all fixed. but now they are again the same.

Thanks,

Mary
