Hello wz,

GDPR is not enabled by default in Moodle installations but it is strongly recommended that you should look into GDPR, and the requirements that the legislation will have on your business.

If you are within the EU, or your students are EU citizens or residents then they do have a right to have their data removed, whether you like it or not. However, although a student can request data removal, the request must be approved or denied by a Data Protection Officer.

Hi, unless it has changed much then students can't just click a button to delete their own data.

They must must submit an SAR (subject access request) which must be approved or denied first by an administration or data protection officer. Only when approved can their data be deleted.
