Video training for company

I'd like to upload a corporate training video and set up a system so I know when my employees have watched the video. Is there a way to set up a course to do that?

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh

The simplest way to do this, is to use completion settings,

http://docs.moodle.org/en/Course_completion_settings

and then set the page with the video on it to "complete" when the page is viewed. This won't tell you if the user *really* watched the video though.

Some 3rd party plugins can do a better job of checking if the video itself was played through. I have set this sort of thing up a few times.

The general thinking however, is that its best to check that the learning in the video was imparted. So you have  questions on the video page or after it and then track that the questions were answered correctly. So here you would use a Moodle Quiz activity, or maybe a Lesson activity, with the video embedded inside (or possibly make the video page a separate activity.)
