Hi,

I'm having trouble on finding any information on how to insert a student's name in a page using the Atto text editor. I'm looking to insert something like this:

Welcome, {firstname} to the course on...

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Sebastian,

Very easily done with the Generico filter plugin. There is even a Welcome User template included that does that plus shows users their profile picture and a link to change it if needed. The picture part can be easily removed.

The advantage of installing and using the Generico filter is that it can also do so many other things.

The Generico filter is terrific, exactly what you need.

You can even use it when posting to a forum, so that each student sees a personalised email in their inbox.

I was messing around with generico, fairly new to moodle here. Finally figured it out. Many thanks.
