different behaviors of roles giving, depending on the section

Hello,

I have 2 sections, in the first one I created a forum and choosed the right roles for the teacher (me) and for the students.

In the second section, when I want to create another forum, there are 2 problems :
- I don't appear in the list of potential users, so I cannot choose the role teacher for myself;
- the students are already put in the existing users for this course, for the role student (which is not a problem but I don't know why it's like this).

I don't figure out what is the problem, could you help me ?

Thanks in advance !

Sincerely,

Emmanuel Leclerc

I gave myself the role 'teacher' in the whole course, and it solved the problem

At the same time, I asked myself :
If a role has been given globally for a course, does it need to be added locally for an activity ? (I saw that a local role can replace a global role).

Hello,

As you've found, if you give a user the role of teacher in the course, it applies to all activities in the course.
