Video platforms with embedded questions that integrate with Moodle

Hello,

I am looking for a video platform that allows us to embed questions at certain points along the video. A few examples we have found so far are PlayPosit and HapYak.

We need something that will fully integrate with Moodle, so that students can access the video from the Moodle site (without needing a separate login) and grades and can entered into the Moodle gradebook.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Though not free, Camtasia will work for this task if you are really dealing with video content.  To integrate it with Moodle you'll need to configure and export your Camtasia project (with the built-in quiz) as a SCORM content package and import that to Moodle.

If "video" means a series of static content slides, you should look at installing the free H5P plugin/activity type (https://h5p.org/moodle) to build that content along with the questions.  No SCORM required in that case.

Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline both enable video to be mixed with interactive questions and load into Moodle via the standard SCORM module. I use both, prefer Storyline's interface, more modern/flexible.

Hi Claire,

There is a great plugin that can be found here: https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_hvp 

With H5P you can add videos to your site and then add a layer of interactivity on top of them through the plugin.

Its very simple and well made, its developed for Moodle and links in with the grade book. I have been using it over the last year and it is fantastic, it also kept up-to-date and running for Moodle versions up to 3.4.
