Social Activity Block Resources not Visible to Students

We are using moodle.school. 

Course format is Social Format

We have the Social Activities block enabled and visible on the right-hand side, but whenever I add an activity or resource to the block, it isn't visible to the student, or to me when I switch to the student role.  I have full admin privileges.

I have gone into the settings for the block and set all users to the role of student.  I have gone into the new activity (a Folder) and set all users to the role of student.

The block is not set to hidden nor is the Folder resource.

The course is set up to have no groups, but the group icon (fully-filled-in) is next to the only activity that is visible to the students, which is a social forum.

I have tried adding multiple activities/resources with the same result - they are not visible to enrolled students.

I solved this prior to any feedback, but thought the answer might be beneficial to future searchers:

If students can't see a folder resource - - -

Under Site Administration:Users:Define Roles: Gear icon

Activity:Folder:set view folder content to allow for STUDENT ROLE.

Oddly enough, prior to making this change, I was not able to add ANY type of activity or resource, but after making this single change, I added additional activities without an issue.
