I noticed something weird on our Moodle 3.3 site yesterday, and I'm not sure if I'm missing something obvious here.
When any user goes to their message preference settings, I only see options for "personal message between users", instead of the myriad of options normally presented there:
Any ideas how this behaviour can be explained?

Hi Stefan,
From the preferences page, you should see two distinct parts:
Message preferences ==> here you'll find anything related to user-to-user messaging (minimal preferences like you already saw)
Notification preferences ==> here you'll find everything related to the elements of Moodle that send notifications to users for any number of reasons. This will be the bit you're looking for if you want to manage which notifications a user receives from Moodle.
