If 'sort by' is set to 'other' such as 'time added', then search works across all fields.
If 'sort by' is set to a user-created field, then search will only search that field.
This means you miss out on sorting by one field (such as a due date), and filtering all the results by the search string.
I didn't expect it to work this way. Seems like it might be a bug.
