I am a brand new administrator for our school's Moodle because the old Moodle admin left. I am poking around and would like students to be able to use the app. I turned on the mobile setting, and downloaded the app. However, whenever I try to connect through the Moodle app (website moodle.billingscatholicschools.org) the app just hangs with the loading circle going round and round.
Hi Levi,
please tell us a little bit more about your Moodle.
- Which moodle version are you using?
- Which authentification plugins are activated in your moodle?
- Is the mobile webservice switched on?
- Is the moodle mobile additional features plugin installed and configurated?
- do you try to connect with an admin account?
- Do you get any error message?

could you check the FAQ: https://docs.moodle.org/33/en/Moodle_Mobile_FAQ
Most of the typical problems are described there
Juan
I have checked through them.
The first problem might be with the SSL Certificate. Do you HAVE to use HTTPS for logins in order for the app to work? That is turned off for our website.
Hi Levi,
https is not required, but it's recommended.
When does the app hang? Is it when you enter the site URL and click connect?
I just tried with my Android device and I was able to reach the credentials screen. In which device are you trying it?
Please notice that the app will always try to connect using https first (for security). If this connection fails, then it will try with http. If the site is slow to return the error, it can take a while to connect to the site (1:30 minutes max).
Kind regards,
Dani
